How should I care for my skin post chemical peel?
During the service, your esthetician will communicate post-peel care instructions. A post-peel kit is included in the service to ensure you maintain the best results from your treatment.
After a chemical peel, skin is temporarily more sensitive to the sun, so wear sunscreen every day. It should say "broad-spectrum" on the label, meaning it protects against the sun's UVA and UVB rays. Also, it should be a physical sunscreen and be above SPF 30. Limit your time in the sun, especially between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and wear a wide-brimmed hat.
Please note: Post peel, you may not experience flaking or peeling from this resurfacing treatment.
Depending on your skin type and the peel solution used, you may notice: dryness, flaking, and minor sensitivity. This is normal as a chemical peel speeds up cellular turnover, encouraging the skin to shed old skin cells to make room for new, healthy growth. It is important to utilize your post-peel kit to keep the skin nourished and hydrated for the next two to three weeks while the skin creates fresh skin cells.
How many chemical peels do I need to see results?
After the first peel, you’ll notice improvement in your skin tone and texture! However at least 4 sessions may be needed to effectively target hard to treat hyperpigmentation, persistent acne, deeper lines or loss of elasticity.
How often should I get a chemical peel?
We suggest a cadence of 4-6 weeks in between a series of chemical peels.
