General FAQ
Do you offer other services beyond facials?
We do! We have many body service offerings, including massage, scrubs, and wraps. You can explore the different types of body services we offer by clicking here.
Am I a good candidate for a lash lift?
Lash lifts are not suitable for everyone. People with super fine or downward-pointing lashes, or lashes that are on the shorter side, may not be good candidates. While short lashes can still be lifted, the curl effect may be less noticeable.
How do I book an appointment?
Booking an appointment at Jalan is easy! You can book by phone or text during normal business hours by calling our front desk concierge at (720)-476-5593. Online booking is available 24/7 using our secure booking manager. To book online from a desktop computer, click here. To book online from a mobile device, click here.
Please note that we do require a credit card to secure the appointment.
How can I choose a specific service provider when booking online?
To ensure that your service is booked with your preferred service provider, follow these steps.
Click the “Book Now” button on Jalanspa.com.
Select the specific service provider from the dropdown menu labeled "With Whom?".
Select a service and date, then click Find Appointments to select an available appointment with your preferred service provider.
*If you do not select a service provider under the "With Whom" drop-down menu, your appointment is subject to change service providers.
How far in advance should I book my appointment?
While we do our very best to accommodate same-day and walk-in appointments, we highly recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance for facial services and 4-6 weeks in advance for body services to ensure the appointment date and time that best fits your needs and schedule (especially when booking on weekends, for parties of two or more, special occasions or if you're visiting from out of town).
We accept online reservations 45 days in advance and release our massage schedule around the middle of the previous month.
What is your cancellation policy?
We reserve appointments specifically for you! Please notify us 24-hours in advance should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. If you reach us after normal business hours, please leave a message. Late cancellations are subject to 50% of the total price of the service(s). Missed appointments without alerting us are subject to 100% of the total price of the service(s).
Excessive amounts of alcohol should not be consumed before facial or body treatments. Jalan Facial Spa reserves the right to refuse services for guests who appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
When should I arrive for my treatment?
Get more out of your treatment by arriving 15-20 minutes early to experience our complimentary signature Journey — self-serve lemongrass and red date tea, foot soak, and time spent in our Meditation Garden or Zen Lounge before and after your treatment. You can get a sneak peek of #jalanjourney moments captured by our guests and talented photography team over on Instagram.
Late arrivals will cut into the service time and be charged the full service price. We value your business and ask in return that you respect Jalan’s scheduling as treatments are reserved especially for you!
Do I need to fill out any paperwork?
In order to provide the best service, we'll need to learn a little more about you.
We will send you electronic intake forms in your appointment notification email sent upon booking as well as in your confirmation email sent 48 hours before your appointment.
All guests are required to complete intake forms prior to arrival at Jalan. If you are a first time guest and have not filled out your forms before your spa day, please arrive 15-20 minutes before your appointment to fill out intake forms and enjoy the full experience and complimentary amenities included in your Jalan Journey.
How long should I plan to be at the spa?
Here at Jalan, we strive to provide an immersive experience that feels more like a retreat than a quick errand. By arriving 15-20 minutes before the start of your service, you're able to enjoy our complimentary Jalan Journey, which includes tea, a foot soak, and time in our Meditation Garden or Zen Lounge for reflection.
The length of our individual treatments range from 45-90 minutes, while our special packages range from 120 minutes. You can find the length of each service next to each service description and also while booking using our online booking tool. After your treatment, you're welcome to extend your relaxation by heading to the Meditation Garden or Zen Lounge to enjoy a warm shoulder compress.
What should I wear?
Come as you are! Wear your comfy clothes with no makeup; we believe you are beautiful from the outside in.
Slippers will be provided at every visit for your comfort during the foot soak; however, to lessen our environmental impact, robes are only provided for guests with multiple scheduled services.
While we provide complimentary grooming items such as combs, dry shampoo, moisturizer and more, we do not have showers, sauna, or steam rooms on-site, which helps to keep our water consumption at a minimum and lower our overall spa costs — allowing us to provide five-star services at great prices for our guests.
We do provide storage bins for keeping your shoes and lockers for your belongings. We recommend leaving high-value items at home.
I love the products used during my treatment. Where can I purchase them?
Our team uses Naturopathica and Circadia skincare lines, which are plant-based products often found exclusively at five-star resorts. We offer a range of products within each line to fit all skincare types and budgets. Following your treatment, our team will lay out a selection of products used during your treatment based on your skincare needs and the time of year.
If you're not ready to take any home with you, please don't worry! It's our goal for you to leave the spa feeling deeply relaxed, so we avoid pressuring you into purchasing a product if you're not ready to commit.
Is your spa eco-friendly?
Yes! We are Denver's only Certifiably Green Spa. You can read more about our earth-friendly practices here.
Should I avoid the spa if I'm pregnant?
Not necessarily. We even offer special services just for expecting mothers! Learn more about our Prenatal Massage here. For facial services, our Mama-To-Be Facial is a great option for those at any stage of pregnancy.
Like many spas, we do not recommend a massage within the first trimester of your pregnancy, so be sure to book with us only at 13 weeks and beyond.
Our massage therapist team members are all certified in prenatal massage. We perform side-lying prenatal massage with the use of cushions, pillows, and bolsters for support and comfort as this is the safest position for expecting mothers.
We recommend avoiding treatments involving heat, such as our Hot Stone Enhancement, Thermal Muscle Melt Massage, Thai Poultice Massage, and seasonal body wraps and scrubs.
Spa Tipping Etiquette: How much should I tip?
Gratuity is not included in the spa service price; while 20% is customary, you are free to adjust the amount to your liking! We accept Jalan gift cards, cash, and all major credit cards as forms of payment.
What is your minor policy?
At Jalan, we believe that healthy skin and wellness starts early, and welcome teens and young adults to the spa. You can learn more about our options for teens here.
To ensure the health and wellness of everyone at our spa, we have an established policy for our youngest guests. Please note that at no point in time may a minor be left in our building without proper supervision, nor join you in the treatment room. Please make childcare arrangements for a relaxing spa day for you and all of our guests.

For more information on the effects of alcohol and massage, read below.
Massage will increase blood circulation, which increases the effects of alcohol.
Massage causes the alcohol to hit the bloodstream faster and remain in the system longer, causing an individual to feel "more drunk" during and after the massage - putting the individual at risk if driving post massage.
Numbed Senses — Alcohol numbs the senses, making it hard to release what pressure the body can manage during a massage. Too much pressure on muscles that cannot handle it can be overworked, then damaging muscle tissue.
Dehydration — Massage tends to allow fluids to move around in the body. If an individual is dehydrated from alcohol, massage will increase the level of dehydration. Hangovers will be worse than normal because of this.
Massage is great for releasing toxins from the body, while alcohol is adding toxins.
The Massage Therapist is put at risk for losing their license.

Facial FAQ
Why should I get a facial?
Whether you already have an established skincare routine or are just starting out in your skincare journey, facials are an essential part of wellness that work from the outside-in to provide a deep cleanse and help promote healthy skin turnover.
Overall Wellness
Just as you strive to eat right, move your body, get haircuts and teeth cleanings, facials are part of a healthy skincare routine to promote overall health.
While facials alone are supremely relaxing, when coupled with our signature Jalan Journey our process seeks to provide a deeply immersive escape from every day life. Our goal is to ensure you leave feeling the best about yourself spiritually, emotionally, and physically, making a Jalan facial a wonderful way to improve your overall wellbeing.
Taking Care of the Skin You're In
As the seasons change throughout the year and throughout the course of your life, you may notice varying levels of dehydration or excess moisture in your complexion.
Through a deep cleansing and application process with powerful plant-based serums, masks and moisturizers, a regular facial routine works to create smoother texture, increased hydration, a glowing complexion, fewer breakouts, and improved skin tone. Regular facials also help to maintain a youthful, natural glow.
What can I expect from my first facial?
First-time facial? We recommend our Signature Facial, which is a wonderful introductory facial for all skin types. You can check out the other types of facials we offer here to fit your schedule, budget and skincare needs.
Analysis
To start off your facial, one of our skincare experts (often referred to as an esthetician) will perform a simple skincare analysis, asking questions along the way to determine the best treatment for your skin's unique needs. This gives the esthetician an idea of your current skincare routine, your pore size and skin texture, and possible irritants that may detract from your skin's natural glow.
Steam
Each of our facial rooms is equipped with a steamer to provide a gentle mist of steam to your skin to help pores open more fully. This process helps to remove bacteria and impurities from the pores, allowing skincare products used to absorb deeply and prepare your skin for extractions (see more below).
Extractions
Depending on the type of facial you select, your esthetician may perform extractions, which provides pressure to congested areas of your complexion for a deeper, fuller cleansing of the face. While this part of the process may be slightly uncomfortable (and should only be performed by a licensed esthetician to avoid scarring), it lasts just a few moments and is followed by a deeply relaxing massage, mask and moisturizing combination to quickly bring you back to a relaxed state. Slight redness following extractions typically lasts 24-48 hours at most (which is why you should always schedule a facial at least a week before an important event such as a wedding).
Facial Follow-Up
Lastly, you'll want to make sure to get the most from your facial by maintaining a healthy skincare ritual once at home. Drink plenty of water, wash off makeup before bed, and use a cleanser and moisturizer appropriate for your skin type and the current season. Our estheticians are always happy to provide tips, tricks and product recommendations for your at-home skincare ritual.
How often should I get a facial?
Jalan is available to you anytime you'd like to relax and restore. To look and feel the very best you can, our estheticians recommend a facial every 1-3 months to deeply cleanse and maintain a healthy skincare ritual.
Can I get a facial if I have a cold sore?
No. If you're experiencing a cold sore outbreak, it must be completely healed before receiving a facial service. Cold sores are viral and can spread to other areas of the body, such as the nose and eyes.
When do we offer Chemical Peels?
September thru May, an ideal time to quickly improve your skin while the sun is hiding.
How often should I receive a Chemical Peel?
We suggest a cadence of 4-6 weeks in between a series of chemical peels.
What conditions do Chemical Peels treat?
Improve the texture and appearance of skin
Reduce lines and wrinkles under the eyes and mouth area
Pose as anti-aging and sun damage treatment of wrinkles
Treat acne scars
Proven acne treatment
Reduce age spots, freckles and dark spots from pregnancy, also known as a condition called melasma.
Men: should I shave before my treatment?
No need to shave your beard before a facial! The high-frequency treatment included in many of our facials is a great way to promote healthy hair growth and reduce bacteria.
If you do plan on shaving before your treatment, we recommend doing so at least 4 hours before the start of your service to avoid irritation.
Which facial would you recommend prior to a wedding or other major event?
Our Purely Anti-Aging Facial is a great option and all of our facials are designed to help you relax and put your best face forward before your next event. You can choose the right facial for your needs, schedule and budget here.
While minimal and gentle, minor redness can occur following extractions, facials that include them should be booked at least one week prior to an event or wedding.
What is Hydrafacial?
Hydrafacial is a non-invasive, pain-free device that provides instant results for all skin types with no downtime. It is a personalized treatment that removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities, while simultaneously delivering cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing serums to the skin. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and provides an immediate glow.
Is Hydrafacial designed for all skin types?
Hydrafacial is designed for all skin types. Your skincare professional may choose specific serums and personalize the treatment for your unique skin concerns and goals.
How long does the treatment take?
Depending on your personalized experience, we offer Hydrafacial treatments in 30-minutes and 60-minutes.
Do I need to do anything special after my treatment? Is there any downtime?
You can return to your normal activities right after the treatment since there is no downtime. Continuing to put on sunscreen daily post-treatment is highly recommended.
What results may be expected?
Clients may see an immediate, visible glow and increased hydration after just one treatment, lasting 5-7 days or longer.
How many treatments are needed to see results?
One Hydrafacial treatment per month is recommended to achieve more advanced results that address core skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, acne, and dehydrated skin.
What is the difference between the Signature and Platinum treatments?
The Signature Hydrafacial experience is a 30-minute treatment and it’s best for clients with low-maintenance, problem-free skin. It includes our 3 classic steps: cleanse, extract, and hydrate.
The Platinum Hydrafacial is a 60-minute treatment that includes all of the above, as well as lymphatic therapy, a Circadia serum booster chosen for your skin concerns, and LightStim Light Therapy.
Massage& Body Treatment FAQ
Why should I get a massage?
Massages are an essential part of self-care: helping to reduce stress, lower blood pressure and enhance sleep. Massages are also effective in reducing muscle tension, migraines, headaches and chronic pain, especially low back pain and joint pain.
Why should I get a body treatment?
Body wraps and scrubs work to cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate — like a facial for your entire body. We use dry brush exfoliation, which removes dead cells for softness and a fresh, youthful glow. Dry brushing aids in circulating blood flow towards the heart to stimulate detoxifying lymphatic drainage.
At Jalan, we use a heated, cushioned table with a mylar blanket, which helps to retain your body's own heat and maximize the overall benefits of moisturizers and other products applied to the body during your service.
We offer rotating body wraps and scrubs with soothing seasonal ingredients like lemongrass, espresso, and more. Learn more about our current wrap offering here.
What can I expect from my first massage or body treatment?
Our goal is to make you feel as relaxed as possible during your time here at the spa, and we will discuss any goals (relaxation, tension reduction, etc.) and specific problem areas prior to your massage for your license massage therapist to be aware of. We will also ask about any discomfort/pain, surgeries or medications to be aware of prior to beginning the treatment.
The massage therapist will step out of the treatment room and then have you disrobe to your comfort level (leaving on undergarments if you would like) and get cozy between the sheets and under the top blanket, typically starting face down with face resting on a face cradle. Your therapist will knock before entering to make sure you are under the sheets and then will begin the session. Draping techniques used throughout the session to only uncover part of the body to work on while leaving the rest of the body warm, cozy and unexposed. Since muscles are tightly connected in groups, lower back and hamstring pain can often be alleviated with an over-the-sheet glute massage. Your therapist will always ask before massaging this muscle group, and you're always at complete liberty to let us know if you would like your therapist to avoid any muscle group or particular area of the body.
